Lichtenstein Castle in Germany

Overview Lichtenstein Castle is a privately-owned Gothic Revival castle. It is located in the Swabian Jura of southern Germany. Carl Alexander Heideloff had designed it. Its name means “shining stone” or “bright stone”.

Swallow’s Nest in Ukraine

Overview The Swallow’s Nest (in Ukrainian), Russian is a decorative castle located at Gaspra, a small spa town between Yalta and Alupka, in the Crimean Peninsula. It was built between 1911 and 1912, on top of the 40-metre (130 ft) high Aurora Cliff. The design was a Neo-Gothic by the Russian architect Leonid Sherwood who designed for the Baltic German businessman Baron von Steingel.
