Hanging Gardens of Mumbai are the terraced gardens

The Hanging Gardens of Mumbai, or Pherozeshah Mehta Gardens, also known as terraced gardens. These gardens are located at the top of Malabar Hill opposite to the Kamala Nehru Park in Mumbai. These gardens provide a beautiful sunset view over the Arabian Sea and has lot of hedges carved into the animal shapes.

The park was designed and laid out in 1881 by Ulhas Ghatkopar over Bombay’s main reservoir. Many people say that it was built to cover the water from the potentially contaminating activity of the nearby Towers of Silence. If you see from the air, the walkway inside the park (known as Hanging Gardens Path), spell out the letters PMG which stands for Pherozeshah Mehta Gardens in cursive.
