Pashtun historically known as Afghans is an Iranian ethnic group

Who are Pashtuns?

Pashtun or Pathans historically known as Afghans is an Iranian ethnic group, native to Central and South Asia. Their native language is Pashto, an Eastern Iranian language.  The total number of Pashtuns is near around 49 million. However, this number is disputed, because of the lack of an official census in Afghanistan.
